The cold wet tentacles of betrayal slither through my body
from the dark depths of my stomach, where it sits like the weight of the world.
Would she care if she saw the emotions across my face? No, she would just turn
her back and laugh as she walks away from the carefully constructed reality I’ve
made, unphased and unaffected by the sounds of my heart and soul shattering from
her callousness. Betrayal was not new to me, I have felt it many times over,
yet this time, this person, made the sting and bitterness a thousand times
worse. With three little words, the
dominoes fell and my world was unrecognizable.
